Indian Forces Neutralize Infiltrator as Forest Blaze Masks Foiled Infiltration Attempt
Security forces successfully thwarted an infiltration attempt along the International Border (IB) in Jammu, resulting in the death of at least one terrorist on Saturday. In the Khour sector of Akhnoor, a group of four heavily armed terrorists was observed attempting to cross the IB during the early hours of the morning.
Sources revealed that the Pakistani side ignited fires in the forests to divert the attention of the Indian Army in the Khour area during the terrorists’ infiltration attempt. Surveillance devices detected the movement of the four terrorists, prompting security forces to engage in gunfire. They managed to eliminate one terrorist, but his associates dragged the body back across the IB.
The White Knight Corps of the Indian Army reported the incident in a post on X, stating, “Infiltration bid foiled in IB sector of Khour, Akhnoor. Suspected move of four terrorists seen through own surveillance devices on the night of 22/23 Dec 23. Effective fire brought down. Terrorists seen dragging one body back across the IB.”
This event follows closely after a terrorist attack on two military vehicles in the Rajouri sector of Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday, resulting in the loss of four Army personnel and injuries to three others. The ongoing operation in the general area of DKG (Dera ki Gali), Thanamandi, Rajouri, has showcased the resilience of the Indian Army in responding to security threats.
